I Know It's Not Tuesday, too!

I haven't posted here for quite a long time, but I do have some recent finishes to share

 This is a quick knit and is a good use for some of my buttons. It's also the second one I've done and have yarn and buttons to do another one.

I made this poncho for my 6 year old grand daughter who loves all things purple.

This pair of socks finally were completed, and I was pretty happy with the way they matched.

Lately I've been making little toys as well as these two finger puppets. These actually got done in a timely fashion!

Needless to say, I didn't make this!  It was part of a bouquet I got on Mother's Day. Have you ever seen a double tulip before?  I sure hadn't.  Take care you two, and stay well!

Hello from Bellevue, Washington!

Gosh, it's been ages since I've posted, but everything is fine here. Thanks to Covid-19 we are getting lots done in our yard and doing lots of walking on our neighborhood hills. Without our daily routine of volunteering and other activities that are now cancelled, we are finding it hard to know what day it is!  Anyhow, since I posted last, I've done some knitting, too. You can see the projects on my blog , but here are my latest finishes which are now residing with our grand kids.

Judy ~ Happy April!

Happy April!  I sure don't know what happened to the rest of March, but we've had some busy days so far this month.  Lots of choir singing is coming up this week, that's for sure.

Even though it's spring,  a cowl can come in handy as it's been cool and rainy here.  I gave this one to a friend.  It's another Interrupted Cowl with a different shade of Bamboozle called Inferno.

Two sets of our friends gained another grandchild late in March, and so I whipped up some booties. Thankfully I had some Plymouth Angora on hand in the right colors!

For almost six weeks I've been working on this shawl that I started long ago. It's probably the most complicated thing I've ever made.  First you knit the edging. Then starting in the middle of the edging you begin the rest of it, using short rows to attach the rest of it which is knitted from the bottom up.  Believe me it's easy to get off between the lace and the chart!  And lots of "tinking" happened in the process.  At the moment it's being blocked, but the photo was taken before I did that. Yippee, it's finally done and I'm keeping it!

Judy ~ A Couple Finishes

We've been on vacation in CA and AZ, but I do have 2 finishes to share, two more cowls.

I see more of them in my future, too, as in sorting though my yarn I found quite a few skeins of this thick-thin yarn.  It's a good thing I like the pattern, isn't it? (Lots of photos on my blog from our trip, too.)

Judy ~ Another Finish

Well, our snow is just about gone although we've had a few rain/snow showers the past few days in addition to mostly gray, cloudy skies.  All the gloom has given me a severe case of startitis, but I do have a finish to share, another Interrupted Cowl in Bamboo Bloom's color called Forest Light.  That yarn was in my stash and a perfect color for someone who's yearning for spring!

And wouldn't you know it, I cast on another one in a different color and a similar yarn called Bamboozle.  Now to get back to work on some more finishes, right?

Judy ~Lots of Snow, Lots of Knitting!

Since we were snowbound for almost a week, I had lots of time to knit. 

 I've also not posted here for a while and have some finishes to share.

This was part of a kit and went to live with a friend, and there's another cat waiting for my needles.

Judy ~Oops, It's Already Wednesday!

Recently I wanted to make two prayer shawls, one for a friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late November, and the other for another friend who just learned she has breast cancer.

I always use the same pattern with Lion Brand Homespun yarn.

Earlier in the fall, I decided to try making this same shawl with different yarn and smaller needles and remembered that my sister-in-law had given me some yarn that she purchased on a trip to New Zealand.  It made a perfect size to keep her shoulders warm on the chilly winter days in Palo Alto, and it also reduced my stash by three whole balls.  Wahoo

 I made this first pair of Monkey Mitts for our grandson Daniel for Christmas who wore them home to IL!  Then another identical pair followed for Max for his 7th birthday; those were a bit big, but I know he'll keep on a-growing!

Where does time go?  Lately the days seem to disappear extra quickly, even when we gained an extra hour.  Sigh.  It's been busy here: lots of singing, some travel, and believe it or not, some finishes! (You can see the explantions for these projects on my blog.)

Judy ~ Another Pair of Socks

This week I finished another UFO, a pair of socks.

The cross-overs in this pattern drove me nuts.  You can see the fronts of the socks on the pattern page, and if anyone has any tips on the cross-over, I'd love to hear them!  I really love the Cascade Heritage yarn in this color.

I just finished these socks with yarn that was supposed to make a matching pair. It came pretty close, but what interested me was the way the pattern (Solar) affected the stripes.

Judy ~ I Finally Remembered!

I hope you didn't faint seeing that I finally got around to posting! August is moving right along, but I have managed a few finishes.

In addition to the sweater from my last post, I also finished this cat scarf for Stella which had been in my stash ever since I made one for her cousin a few years ago.

That cousin received this butterfly and cocoon for her August birthday. (If you've not made a pattern by Susan B. Anderson, you should as they are fun.)  Soph's request list came late, but I am now working on something else that topped her list. Stay tuned on that.

Judy ~ Crazy Busy Here

The  last part of July was crazy at our house, but we managed to spend time with our siblings.  Thanks to all of the travel time, I completed this project for Stella's fifth birthday. (How did that happen? It seems like she was just born!)

Now I need to think up something for Sophia whose birthday is 5 days later.  Any ideas?  Have a great week!

Judy ~ I Remembered to Post!

Noot too much knitting or posting happened this past week because we were off to California's wilderness with no phone and no Internet! Crazy, eh?  I did finish a pair of booties though for a choir friend's first grandchild though.

I had to shorten the cuff because for the first time ever with this angora yarn I ran short.

Meanwhile, while we were gone, my older daughter sent me this photo of our oldest grand daughter who is learning to sew. Isn't her apron beautiful?  I am very proud of her, too!

Judy ~ Dishcloth, Socks,

I've got several projects going at the moment, but I do have a couple of finishes, too.
I finished another dishcloth and a pair of socks.  Here they are:

The color is called Rainbow.

I'm disappointed with the socks because they bled (worse than any other yarn I have ever

 used) when I soaked them for blocking. Can you tell the difference between the photos?

 I am going to quit now because Blogger is acting weird.  Have a good week!

Judy ~ I Remembered!

Another month is almost gone! I find myself wondering who sped up the clock as every day seems to vanish in the blink of an eye , and I finally remembered to post something!

Speaking of graduation, I made this bracelet for our grand niece who recently graduated from high school and is off to college at UCSD in the fall.

Do you remember this one?  Well, that yarn from Hobby Lobby is most generous, and I got two more dish cloths from that ball.  The first one had a funky corner and the second one was a bit better.

Believe it or not, there was a small amount of yarn left after the second one, er, really the third one!  This pattern  is a variation on Grandma's Favorite.
