Susan: Just Beading Left!

There are three sections I want to bead, but this is otherwise finished.

Last section worked:

Seam 67, borrowed from something I saw in 2015:

Seam 68, the orange one: needs beads:

Susan: CQJP2016 and Stocking

Here's the final shot of the stocking, with the squares around it. Now it's time to work on the plum pudding. I wanted to substitute something because we don't do plum pudding, but I couldn't think of anything - brain shorted out trying. So plum pudding it is.

I also worked on that seam 63 and finished it, plus started seam 64 on the same yellow piece.

Happy Independence Day to everyone!

Susan: Little Bits of Stuff

A little CQ:

Seams 52-54:

And a little stitching on the center of the September CQJP2016 center - Postcards from Heaven that Jenny and Allie did last year.

Seam 50 was fun. I used Aurifil pink 12 thread for accents, a variegated Sassa Lynne for feather stitching, and tiny Delica magenta beads. I think they were these from U Bead It, my favorite bead store in the country. These were actually bought in person in Sacramento, many years ago.

Not much left to do on that block!

All Sassa Lynne threads, except pink and purple French knots are Cosmo, 2 strands.

Sorry, forgot to press to get rid of markings.

Susan: CQJP2016: Seam 48 Finished

More seams to go, but this big one is finished, at least. This is all Sassa Lynne variegated thread in a couple of different colors. With luck, you can enlarge that by clicking, but I make no guarantees.

Susan: July CQJP2016

During her Thursday visit, Stacey was mending places Josh's quilt had come apart at the seams - on the fleece fabrics, only. So tip if you are sewing them with other fabrics, maybe use a stretch stitch! I sat and did some CQ while we chatted about life, the universe and everything. Here's what I got done. All pics should click to enlargements on my CQ blog.

Seam 45 - beads to be added later:

Seam 46 - maybe finished, maybe not:

I've started Seam 47, a vine, on top. It's so nice to take some stitching time!

October 18, 2016

All the stitching is finished on the June block. I still want to do a little beading on it, but that won't take long. I need to work on the Postcards from Heaven for July and August so I can get a couple more blocks made, though.

Seam 43 was made with doodling from one of the templates from Sharon Boggan's 2nd set of templates. They are still available, along with set 1, but not until she comes home in December. I find I use set 1 more often, but there are things I really like in set 2 also. I still use Carole Samples's templates the most, but those aren't available any more. This stitching is done in Aurifil 12 cotton threads, though the pinks are all DMC Floss I happened to have lying around. I almost never use DMC, but I was feeling too lazy to get up and get something else.

seam43

Seam 44 was a reversion to one of my favorite seams to do with Carole's middle sized wavy template. It is one that still needs beading. This thread is my favorite Sassa Lynne fine perle, about an 8.

And now a picture of the whole block, though it truly isn't a good picture. It's dark and late and my lighting isn't great. I'll get one in better focus in the daytime soon.

On Blogspot, you probably can't enlarge these WP pictures.

Susan: CQJP2016 Progress

Something happened to the post I had scheduled, so here's another one. Sorry, pics are a little fuzzy.

First, what happened to the tree with roots:

Susan: Tiny Bit

I'm sorry, I simply can NOT keep track of days most of the time any more! But I do have a little to report. I'm sort of leaving May as it is until I put them together.

First seam on June, not finished:

Some progress on Hexathon, block 4:

And I did finish the second Emperor's Wives block:

Susan: Late Update

Tuesdays keep sneaking past me lately - honestly, every day of the week does. But there was progress on my CQJP May block.

The tree is about done, too.

There's still some beading to do, and a little more stitching, but the end is in sight.

Susan: CQJP2016, May Update

Two more seams. Such fun to do!

Seam 33: From Carole Samples' book, page 39. I added the detached chains and the buttons, though. Yellow thread is Valdani 12 cotton. Variegated green is Sassa Lynne.

Seam 34: From Carole Samples' book, page 128. I added the button. Most of the thread is Sassa Lynne, but the tiny straight stitches are two strands of Cosmo Seasons 8062 variegated.

CQJP2016: May Block Seams and June Block

Seam 31: Inspired by a drawing on page 119 of the Carole Samples book.

Seam31

Seam 32: Just something I like to do with feather stitches. Feather is my favorite stitch and I struggle not to use it on every seam. =) This one is randomly stitched. There will be beads later.

Seam32

That represents more time that you care to think about, but a thing worth doing is worth doing. LOL

Here's the whole block, so far, with the bottom cut off, 'cause there's nothing down there anyway.

And here's the June block I sewed together on Saturday:

Susan: CQJP2016 - April Block Finished

It's taken forever, and I'm going to have to work hard to catch up this summer, but April is finished! This postcard was drawn by Allie at Allie-oops Sweet Happy Life She did the June block, too, but I have to do May next, which is by Jenny at Elefantz

First, Seam 28. This was just a whimsical little line of yellow flowers. Aurifil 12 thread for the yellow, and Sassa Lynne for the variegated green.

Seam28

Next to that, Seam 29 which truly is a bit of doodling. Green Sassa Lynne, pink Aurifil.

Seam29

How this fits in with Seams 26-27:

And the whole block finished:

Susan: CQJP2016 April Update

I'm linking this to Jenny Stitchery Linky because the center postcard is from the ones Jenny and Allie are designing as a BOM this year. I've almost finished this block, one seam to go! Here's the new work.

Seam 26, all Sassa Lynne fine perle threads:

Now seams 27-28, which is all sort of one thing. Seam 27 is the wavy part, Sassa Lynne for the chains and running stitches, Aurifil cotton 12 for the greens. Also Sassa Lynne for the floral chains and French knots, with the Aurifil green for the straight stitches.

Whole block, one seam to go:

May 10, 2016

Susan: April CQJP2016 Update

I managed a little stitching last week. I added some to this seam, though it still seems incomplete, and the addition, right on the seam line, doesn't seem as sturdy as the rest of it.

Underneath the wavy fronds, I added this seam, and it pleases me some. The beads are Japanese triangle beads, size 11. I love triangle beads, because the sides are flat and they stay where you put them.

Finally, on the end, I added this one, which I like quite a lot. The alternating arrow and curve design came from Marci H, from a block she did a while back. This makes my block half finished.

I did take a block shot, but it was late at night, and I managed to cut off one part of the block, so Judy will have to wait until next week. =)

Susan: March Reveal

There was a title there, but I guess it went away when I updated the post!

Seam 20 started from a drawing on a booklet that was in Fran's things, just a xeroxed copy of something or other. Then I embellished it more.

Seam20

The whole block.

On to April!
