Cyra ~ Ice Cream & Christmas Trees

Haha, what a great title - Ice-cream and Christmas trees can only go together in a blog post.

Neapolitan Ice Cream Baby Blanket

It's Finished.
Yay, I have a FO.
It's called Neapolitan Ice Cream because it is the Chocolate, Strawberry & Vanilla ice cream colours of the Neapolitan ice cream blocks that I used to buy when my kids were young.
The pattern for this will be in my Ravelry projects soon.

Hexie Quilt

A few bright greens have been added.
A LOT more bright greens are yet to be added, lol.

Christmas Trees

I have added the beads decorations to my little Christmas trees on the woven felt hearts, and buttonhole stitched around the hearts.
Just have the hanging ribbons to add before I can call them finished.

And, a large, fiber related, street art project is in the planning stage for Oct/Nov.
I'm starting to gather the necessary 'bits & pieces' for it.
I hope Tony doesn't want to put the car away in our garage before Nov, lol.

Susan: Late Update

Tuesdays keep sneaking past me lately - honestly, every day of the week does. But there was progress on my CQJP May block.

The tree is about done, too.

There's still some beading to do, and a little more stitching, but the end is in sight.

Susan: Next Best Thing to Nothing

A few leaves and some French knots. I'm using up threaded needles with bits of color left on them. That's it for this week!

Susan: May CQJP2016

Finally! I forgot to take a picture of the bare block before I began stitching the tree. Too excited to have something to stitch at last, I suppose!

Here's the tree, taken with the flash. The fabric colors are pretty accurate, but the tree has too much flash on it.

And without the flash, you can see the tree better, but the fabrics are all wrong!

There's still much to be done on the tree - leaves and flowers or buds, something. But it was nice to spend hours and hours stitching the tree. That's 3 Valdani Perle 8: The shadowed side of the tree is color 126, a solid dark gray. The more golden color is JP 7, a variegated brown/gray to gold/orange. The lighest one is O 538, a variegated light gray to light gold. There is a cross-over color, but I'm not even sure which one, just that they blended in a few spots.

Susan: Spiders Everywhere

Not too much more to go; one corner and some beading.

Spider Web: I thought putting that brighter shiny thread on the one branch might make it look like sunshine was hitting that part. What do you think?

Whole block (just for you, Judy!)

Cy - Reveal - TAST & June CQJP block

TAST Week 26

The green and blue spirals that follow the blue bead line in the middle of this mandala are Palestrina Stitch with a very short "arm" so that the knot is the prominent part.
The pale turquoise outer ring is Whipped Spider Wheel, with straight stitching and V's in dark blue.

And as a seam treatment on my crazy quilt.
The top wavy line is with alternating "arms", and the other three lines are evenly stitched and overlapping each other.

And this Palestrina Stitch experiment could be 'mistaken' for a tree
(one for you Connie, lol).

CQJP June

I just about managed to get the June block finished in June.

I added Fly Stitch to the seam that I started last week.

Lots of lovely texture

And the butterfly of course.

There are some close-up photos on my blog

So that is block number six finished. Half way there. Wahoo!!

Also.............
I have an announcement to make about the completion of a major, and somewhat secret, project that I have been undertaking over the last couple of months.
But you will have to wait until I blog about it tomorrow because I am too tired to think straight right now (aren't I a tease, lol).

Your comments and feedback are most welcome.

Barbara's TAST Weeks 8 & 9 and February CQJP

The February CQJP block is done.  I added more fly stitches to mimic feathers on the blue jay, and along the base of the tree as leaves for some blue French knot flowers.

I used chain stitch to create a vine for the tree trunk, and gave it some red berries.

The March block has an image of flying geese at the center.   I couched a wooded bead with Coral Zig Zag stitch right above it.

With some tiny beads, this became a fancy beetle.

I've picked some morning glories and some doves for the patches opposite the beetle.  Onward, onward.
