Hi all, hope you are getting through each day with some creative work.

I have been stitching lots of new things and here are a few of them.

The reversible Autumn quilt below was for one of my sons birthday present in June.

The Front is 30 mystery quilt blocks, and the back is using up all the scraps from the front blocks plus some 'wild card' orphans and pieces that ended up the wrong size for the front, lol.

This was my main 'lock-down' project.

During lockdown I just had to cut my own hair, and I made this beanie to cover up my embarrassment until it grew back again, hahaha.

A lovely rose in my garden was the inspiration for this painting.

Angela ~ Advent Journal & Cardinal Quilt Blocks

Last week I showed you the cover of the advent journal.

Let me show you an inside page that also has actual sewing on it!

I created pockets of paper that were sewn to the scrapbook paper and most of the tags are covered in Christmas fabrics.  This journal was up on Ebay for less than an hour before a friend saw my post on Facebook and went and bought it.

In other sewing news, yes! more sewing!  I am making a Christmas quilt for Mom.  She bought fabrics back in 2002, I saw the receipts in the box, and never made anything.  I have been looking for a pattern for 2 years, one that would be a little different.  I found just a photo on Pinterest of a cardinal block.  Drew it out and began cutting fabrics.

I've gotten 4 of the 18 sewn together so far.

The beaks are fussy cut from a fabric with gold bells and the are appliqued on.  The rest is all pieced.  Please excuse the wonkiness, I haven't finished pressing them yet.

I'm thinking dark green sashing, there will be 3 across and 6 down for a twin size quilt.

Susan: Piecing, not Stitching

It's been a week of making blocks, to catch up, and now the rest of the month, I hope to concentrate on stitching projects. Here are some of the blocks I made this week. If you notice a similarity to Moira's post, it's because a) we belong to some of the same projects, and b) she was here from Monday late afternoon through Thursday morning.

There was also this block that didn't turn out right. Bad pattern.

Then there were the lotto blocks for June. This was so much fun ... once I figured out what I was doing wrong!

Susan: Just Random Goodness

I had no time to stitch this week, but I've worked on the following things off and on all week. Blogspot was not cooperating (oh what a shock that is!), so I just copied the photo links from WordPress. I didn't bother to insert additional html or css to center them.

Calico Rose is finished, but I can only get 25% of it in a photo, because it's too big to lay out anywhere in the house. Too wet outside.  




The Scrap Vortex is actually 3 blocks further along than this after this morning, but this will do. You've seen one scrap, you've seen them all.

 



 

This is as far as I took the jelly roll. It's going to be cut into 4 baby quilt centers, appropriately named Pink Stinks II-V, but that's probably for later in December, or maybe even January.

I guess that's enough for one post. Hopefully, I'll be getting started on my last Wizard of Oz block tomorrow.
