Deborah - TAST, Catching UP

Catching up with some stitches I have missed:

Knotted Buttonhole

Linked Double Chain

Beaded Hebago Edge
This turned out to be one of my favorites, and I'll be doing more experimenting with this one.

Stop by my blog, Wednesday Quilter, for a look at all the blocks put together. Still a lot of hand work to do on the center block, but you'll get the idea.

As I said over there, my sister in law and I will be leaving Sunday night for London, then to Tel Aviv. We'll return on October 28th. I'm home for just a few days before leaving for Houston and the Quilt Show.

Happy Stitching!

Debra: TAST: Linked Double Chain Stitch

Nothing like waiting until the final hour.  Did it.  So what?
Next.

Like Carol & Cy, my Aug block is very naked and my interests are pulled elsewhere.  It's going to take some serious effort to make the August deadline.  In the words of that famous train, "I think I can.  I think I can!"

Cy - TAST 33 & 34 - CQJP

I didn't get to post last weeks TAST - Pekinese stitch (week 33)
so here it is.
Two rows, mirror image.

And this week is TAST week 34 - Linked Double Chain
I tried three variations on my stitch journal cloth.

CQJP August block

I am a little bit behind on this block as I have given stitching priority to another major project again this month.
The deadline for that project is tomorrow, so I shall be able to get back on track with this block again soon.

But I did get the crochet trim done.
I'm always happiest when crocheting.

Happy Stitching

Angela~ Double Link Chain Volcano

The TAST stitch this week was the very easy linked double chain stitch.
I used 2 strands of cotton floss in various colors for the entire journal page and it came out pretty well.

My history subject involves a state I have never been to but would like to visit one day.  August 21, 1959 is the day Hawaii became our 50th state.  The history of the US takeover of Hawaii and her people is not a nice one.  Per usual, the US ran roughshod over the native people.  However, the state is gorgeous,  a real paradise, judging by photos.

Barbara's Linked Double Chain Stitch

School started this week, so I'm back to work, and stitching on the run.  This week I did try the Linked Double Chain Stitch, above in yellow, which wasn't as hard as it looked at first.  I did get a rhythm going, and can imagine doing long seams in this stitch.  I also outlined the cone flowers (?) in the central image, and added some French knots and lazy daisy stitches the adjacent seam.

I stitched the butterfly in some thin crewel yarns, and added a few more French knots for seam embellishment.  I'm hoping the long weekend next week will give me some time to finish this block and to piece the last four blocks (can that be right?) for this project.

Carol - TAST, Linked Double Chain

Linked Double Chain, what more can I say?
For me, this will not be a go to stitch.  After a couple of false starts I decided to use perle 5 and then beefed it up a bit with French Knots.

With only one TAST to go before the end of August my block remains quite naked, lots of work required, but in my defence I have put together blocks for September/October/November.

Judy ~ Linked Double Chain Stitch ~ TAST

Yay for hatbands! That's where I put this week's stitch. And yes, it works on curves as promised by Sharon. I also used it on Sue's sleeves and am homing in on the end of Block #8!  Since I was into chaining, I outlined the hatband with chain stitch.  Wonder what the next stitch will be............
