Glad you didn't do them in black cuz they're so pretty this way! I love the buttonhole circles with the flowers in their centers. I am so anxious to see the whole thing with its borders.
And maybe not. =) I have one more section to do on the first one. No telling what will be on there. I only have two weeks for each border, so I'm not doing much that requires a learning curve.
The blackwork stitch is really nice and adds a lot of movement. Add me to the 'buttonhole circles fan list'. I like the way the BHCs echo the shape of the lace.
Some very interesting designs here Susan. I love the addition of the rosettes. I wish that strip of fabric was longer so that there were more BHC's to see =) It's looking a lovely block so far. Fabulous stitching.

Totally love the old fashioned looking buttonhole circles with the little flowers.
I think the woven picots would be pretty on your piece. Maybe you could do them on a small, dainty scale with fine thread.
I'll add my 2¢ for the circles with flowers, it appeals to me love of vintage linens. Love blackwork too and working it on the gingham looks great!
I agree, the buttonhole circles look so attractive coming off your seam as do the blackwork stitching - everything flows.

Thanks for your comments. I enjoyed doing those buttonhole curves and making the rosettes. I'm going to add beads to the blackwork, too.
They are very easy. I thought they were going to be hard but they are one of the easiest stitches we've done.

That is serendipity. I didn't even think about it. =) Thanks!
