Debra: TAST: Open Base Needlewoven Picot

Not sure I would like this stitch.  Now I do!  I can see it could be very useful for textured surfaces in the future.

Thanks, yep, until the end of the year (and project) it's nuttin' but burple all the way.

This block has a really pretty embroidery in the middle. I bet you'll like that too. You'll see it in a few weeks! Heee, heee.

I love your button sun! Or is it a flower? Whichever, it's fab! What a good idea.

Flower--that's a very old mother of pearl button.

Love it! Very creative. Did you sew the button down before making the french knots? Perle cotton looks so much better on these last two stitches than floss, at least IMHO.

I used 6 strands of DMC floss. I've found with this challenge to make alot of the stitches show, I need all the strands.

I drew a circle (using the button as a template) and eyeballed the petal placement around the circle. When the petals were done, I used the floss and did an X through the button's holes, then added 5 wrap french knots.

I'm going to go on record here saying that I love this color of floss!

It's really nice and such a pretty thread colour! Some of us have liked using the colour purple all year long and I'm so very pleased you've been converted LOL. You say you used DMC, but it really looks like a variegated perle. You used to show us the middle embroidery first, but now we have to be patient.

What good purpose would the Reveal serve if I served all the dessert before the first course??!

Wow, that's a huge accomplishment learning to love purple, even if it's only floss. I'm so proud.....☺
