Oh MY! Your fans lined up along the inside block are superb! I am always delighted to see a humble stitch pulled into a grand idea so well. So pleased you have gotten past the fuzzy yarn on the center block! See what some experience does?
You are teasing us with the wing and leaves! I know I will love this section too. Great use for the knotted loop stitch as leaves.
This is beautiful Carole. I absolutely LOVE the half-buttonhole wheels. They really 'show-off' the Geisha girl, and such a beautiful thread used for it too. I also love the couched silver thread treatment around the centre panel. The falling 'feathers' is a great use of the knotted loop stitch. Excellent work Carole.
Yes, this is very pretty. I really like the half-buttonhole wheels, too. Love the falling leaves/feathers, whichever they be, especially the one on the left: I'm a sucker for variegated thread!
Beautiful stitching, Carol! What I can see makes me anxious to see the rest of your block, especially the crane. I also love the way you used the fans to frame the Geisha. At the moment I'm reading The Street of a Thousand Blossoms by Gail Tsukiama which goes along very well with your block!
The subtlety of the silver thread in the couching is just perfect! And I admire the regularity of your buttonhole wheels; I've tried those and know how difficult they are!

I'm thinking those pretty leaves could be pretty feathers that bird has lost. Well Done!
Oh yes, , you make me want to rip out the "leaves" and stitch delicate feathers.
Mix some feathers in with the leaves!
Wait! Am I confused? are they leaves or feathers?
They seem more featherlike each time I look at them!
OK, now you are playing with me!

What great additions to the bare block, which I already loved tremendously!
