First, a little inspiration from something I saw on Misha's blog post.
Next, something that didn't turn out quite the way I imagined, but I will bead it to perk it up. It's from The Stitches of Creative Embroidery by Jacqueline Enthoven, p. 38, #12.
And finally, something from the same book, but page 155, #331.
Not as much as it should be, but better than nothing. =)

Especially love those flowers! I also like the look of the variegated thread on those chain stitches.
Some very interesting effects with those stitches. It all looks good!
The bouquet at the bottom is my favorite.
I especially love the set of three flowers! Beautifully executed. Lovely shapes! Every stitch counts! :)
Very pretty and love the colors. Did you do the crochet edge?
No, I didn't do this one. That is the edge of a linen handkerchief I bought. It was damaged on one section, so it wasn't expensive, but I loved the green and the edging. I managed to get the damage into the seam line, so I haven't lost any of the handkerchief!
I really think old linens need to come out of the drawers and be used and enjoyed again. Good for you!
The row of detached chain stitches create an optical illusion, they seem to stand proud of the fabric. Reminds me of Debra's CSQ with the rows horizontal instead of vertical. Your flower spray is very pretty with lovely neat stems - Sassa Lynne threads?
I really like all of these. You did a nice job on them.
A fabulous show of stitching Susan. Just love that crocheted handkerchief edging, such a lovely colour too.
Love the flower trio in the bottom pic. You get your stem stitch so neat too. Mine always looks rather ragged.
