Cool! I agree, gold thread is painful to work with. Looks like you had fun with the Pekinese stitch though. I especially like the stitching around the hotel silkies.
I've never worked with the gold thread, but you did a nice job with it. The rayon tubular stitching has such a nice gradation of color and I really like the look.
Thanks Judy. Although the photo doesn't do justice to the tubular ribbon I'm really pleased with the result. It had been lurking with my trims for a long time. I had wondered whether it would be a problem getting it to lay neatly, but I just looped it through the back-stitches. It has a lovely sheen and feel sure I'll use this ribbon and stitch together again.

Here's a good lesson using different threads. Good for you! I think I would like to try some ribbon and see how that looks.

You'll see my response to Judy.
Always good to get those golden oldies out of the drawer and use them.
Metallic thread is a pain but it adds so much richness, great Eye of Horus! The tubular thread is pretty cool.
Wow! Brave of you to try this stitch in metallic thread! Looks very nice. and I really like the tubular rayon, too. Really nice color on that one. :)
Oh wow! Just look at that rich Golden Eye. Excellent job with the Pekinese stitch Carol.
Your stitching is so regular and bold. Great choice of materials, they add a lot of texture to your work.
