Great July addition for Stitching Journal. Like Connie, my favourite stitching is the second photo - strong seam treatments beautifully executed and I spy a few Algerian stitches. Love all the colourful buttons - great eye candy.
I used all my little short leftover threads for the algerian eye stitches! Thanks, I was trying to make the black & white ribbons dominant in this block so glad to see it worked.
It does look like you had fun with this, Debra. Love the use of the black and white ribbons as well as the buttons and the colorful way you attached them. Great stitching, too! My favorite seam is the herringbone with the detached chain stitches in variegate thread over the black checkered ribbon. Very pretty!
Debra you have such funny/creative sayings in each of your blocks! Each so appropriate. Are you such a "punny girl" in everyday life? If so, I'll bet your students loved it!
Debra, your close up pictures are wonderful!! Your wheatear is fabulous. I also especially love the variegated detatched chain with the herringbone stitch over the checquered ribbon, and the curving basque stitch!

Stitching on the second photo is my fav! Nice block Debra.
I believe you had lots of fun on this one! Very colorful and full of eye candy.
I was still under the influence of the embellishing on my Mother & Child blocks.

Yea, last night while watching the Olympics I added the algerian eyes. Felt that blouse scrap needed a bit of something.
Lots of old beaded necklaces taken apart here and a little girl's bracelet offered the tiny flowers.
Thanks, Connie!
Thanks, Angela!
Such nice crisp stitching, and I love the cheerful colors.

I just kept asking, "What would Cy do?" Oh, ha! ha!!
Aug's block really reminds me of you--it's all blue green.
Thanks, Judy! It was a bit of "now that I am into the embellishments, let's use the darn things" attitude.
Thanks, Barbara! This project has been great because I don't have to stay with any one color too long.
That's my gal.........

No, in real life I am as dry and dull as toast.
