My July CQJP is finished. This one worked up so quickly.
I added some blingy beads to the centers of the snowflakes as well as other areas on the block.
Then I added a variegated chain stitch along the green seams
all done, and put away........
Last reveal, I forgot to post my 6 blocks to date

I may just jump ahead and begin working on this a bit early......
In August, we're having special company coming all the way from Australia.....
We'll get to see our daughter after four years, and meet our son-in-law and our granddaughter! I'm so excited!
So, once they arrive, there may not be any time for stitching!
I may have to play some catch up later.
TAST stitch for this week is the Up-and-Down Buttonhole. Here's my sampler:

Super pretty! My favorite part is the flowers with the ribbon leaves & stems.
All the blocks are great, this is going to be so very special when you are done.
Forgot to say your Up & Downs look great too, I especially like the green & pink/red line at the top. This was a fun stitch, I will have to use it more.
So great to view all your blocks together and well done on starting August in July - am feeling a little intimidated! Super up and down sampler many different ways to use this stitch.

Your Christmasy piece is coming along wonderfully, Suz. How big will it be when you're done with it? That snowman block is my favorite so far, but they're all really nice. August already? You go girl! Nice practice piece too; I really like the pink and green circle. That stitch does curves nicely, doesn't it?
Comments are completely messed up for me. It's deleted the long one I made. =P It wouldn't let me comment on Judy's forever. So, I can hear the sleigh bells ringing when I see the blocks together! Have a great time with your family. That's exciting! I hope they have a long visit planned.

I really like the way you interlocked the pink and green up-and-down buttonhole stitches. And the line of chain stitch in variegated thread. nice!

Following your tutorial and having a stab at Net Stitch, sadly don't seem to be able to make it look neat, any tips please?

I forgot to mention that your B- Up/Down sampler is great. You sure got a nice lot of variation with it. I like the circle.
If I use all the blocks for the wall hanging it will probably be a minimum of 24"x32" but that doesn't allow for sashing or borders, and I haven't decided yet if I'll cull some blocks for a table runner and have a square hanging or not.
The buttonhole up and down cyrves very nicely, and I found it to be a fun stitch that's user-friendly.
Well, I finished my StitchMAP course, and now seem to have a bit of extra stitching time........heheheh
They plan just over 2 months in Canada, but some of that time will be spent travelling so my SIL can see a bit of the country. I'm excited!
I think the circle is my fave part, too.
Carol, what kind of thread are you using? It may be that it's too light to lie properly, or perhaps it's curling? I used two threads for the netting so it had more weight to hold its shape.
If that's not an option, you might try anchoring a few of the net loops to the fabric,especially at the beginning and end of the row, if a loose net is not your plan, or you could add a bead or two to weigh down the thread. Once I had several rows completed, the thread loops seemed to stay put better, but you could anchor them temporarily until you have some length.
