Buttonhole Stitch
A useful stitch with lots of possibilities. Most people have probably used this stitch before, but I would have never imagined some of the creative ways it's being applied.

How did you stitch that purple line of buttonholes? where they look connected? that's cool- are they touching in one of the lines and a little straight stitch in the other line?

Wonderful variations, the row of flowers is very pretty, you could do it with beads instead of french knots for a different look too.

I very much like both of your flower-looking rows. Lots of variations. One of the things I like about the stitch is that it can be embellished with anything!

Debra, I stitched one row of buttonholes then the second row upside down so that the long stitches met - does that make sense? Then I just did a running stitch where they met. You could thread ribbon or thread through the loops. For some reason, this stitch is really satisfying although that 22 count Aida is hard on the eyes sometimes! LOL. Thanks for all the comments.
