What a week............. the only trouble with getting on with the stitching is that I don't have enough time left to catch up with what others are doing on here. Stitching is good though so I hope you will bear with me while I try to sort out my 'online' time better.
Revealing week 2.
TAST - Buttonhole stitch.
My experimenting with this stitch was good. Tried a couple of new (to me) variations, and I'm well pleased with the result for my journal page.
Stitches include - back-to-back buttonhole, 4 variations of wrapped buttonhole, V-buttohole couching, alternate sides buttohole couching. slanting buttonhole, length pattern, layered and graded buttonhole, outline buttonhole, wheel, ridged buttonhole, bar (or detached) buttonhole.

CQJP - January
I still haven't got even one block made up yet. I need to find a whole day when I can get my sewing machine out and get cracking on this. But I have, at least pulled together all the parts to complete my project. So you can see that I haven't exactly been idle on this challenge.
Threads - Beads - Buttons etc.

BJP - January
My shape for this challenge has ended up a Teardrop.
The starting point for this piece is my own hand-made black and gold scroll bead that didn't make it into a necklace in it's own right (poor thing).
I thought the orange felt background was suitable for showing off both the black and the gold. All other colours that I auditioned had a muted effect on one colour, and I want both colours to stand out equally on this.
And then I started the embellishing with gold beads.

I spend way too much time on the computer now too. It is tough to keep up with everything. You have a really nice collection of goodies to choose from for your CQ. Your TAST journal page is going to be really nice. You've done some creative things with the stitch. I agree that orange felt is perfect on your BJP! That is going to be a spectacular creation. The gold beads you have added over the felt really makes the entire piece come together!
It's so interesting to see all your variations of what I've always considered a rather utilitarian stitch! Who knew? Looks like you have lots of fun stuff lined up to work with on your CQ piece. And the BJP is stunning! I think that coiled bead was quite smart to hold out for the limelight!
OK, you get the OverAchiever's Award for this week's buttonhole stitch! *wink* I definitely want to try some of your variations.
I don't know where to begin! The TAST stitching looks impressive for number of variations! I sketched out more than I got to stitch so far, but there's still Monday to go. Your materials for the CQJP part are awesome in scope! And then the bead jp. Wow, again. I love the button, and then you started working other magic on the piece. It is truly amazing and gives me a new perspective on beading something.
I love your buttonhole stitches! Such a variety!
And your BJP is looking gorgeous. That's a nice bead you made!
More great ideas to think about! Love your button hole variations...and that beading for the BJP is awesome!
What a great collection of threads and buttons and such for your CQJP! The teardrop is a great shape for your BJP. And I especially like the little orange starfishy-shaped motif on your buttonhole sampler!
Your sampler stitches are very bold and graphic. Your paisley shape is really striking.
