Barbara's TAST Week 3: Feather Stitch

I got a head start and through my powers of ESP, did a feather stitch seam last week.   This seam was done in perle cotton, with lazy daisy and buttons.

I added my hummingbird in satin and long and short stitch, and a feather stitch plant with buttons and French knots.

This block is coming along nicely.  I hope to finish it on schedule by the end of the month.

Drop by my blog to read about some of the inspiration for this piece.

Your little feather stitch flower with the buttons is perfect. I'm loving the hummingbird too. The entire block has such a natural and cohesive look. The balance is wonderful!

Your embroideries are fabulous Barbara. The feather stitch and button flower is a lovely addition especially with the sweet hummingbird gathering nectar. Very well positioned.

There's not one thing I don't love about this block, you do exceptionally fine work and have a great eye for things. I'm so glad you are part of our group.

I love the block, the colors are so bright without being garish. The hummingbird is super!

I love how this is coming along Barbara! You have an excellent handle on placement and balance. The hummingbird so sweet in context to the next block. All so airy and natural in color.
( I will be studying the hummingbird and how you did him/her )

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'm very happy with this block, though I sometimes wonder how I can continue this momentum for another 11 blocks! Well, I guess that's what the challenge is for: to keep us all going when he going gets tough.

Your hummingbird is wonderful, Barbara, and I love the feather-flower it's going after also. This is such a pretty block. What's your ESP tell you about this week's stitch?

I'm thinking the chevron is going to show up on TAST pretty soon.
