Judy, my sister-in-law and I had a great time at the Sewing and Quilting Expo where we spent the day on Saturday. Some photos of the quilts that were on display - a nice mix of traditional and modern. The traditional quilts were older tops that had been machine quilted.
This one was one of my favorites.
I saw this quilt and it's "sister" at the Georgia Quilt Show last fall. I really love the textures.
Photos were taken with my phone (totally forgot my camera) so they are just so-so.
One more photo. Last week was my birthday and here is what I asked for:
Ha. I'm a cheap date, right? Shelving from Ikea. There's still a full closet and a bunch of plastic tubs. to empty out. Oh well. Back to Ikea on Sunday I guess.
Have a great week!

Thanks for sharing your quilt show photos! I enjoyed seeing your red and white CQ progress as well.
is all that red embroidery hand done by you? is amazing so no wonder is slow going , lovely.
Love your birthday present too and a late Happy Birthday.
Thanks for sharing your shows photos with us is nice to see them
It's not how fast it goes, but how pleased you are with your stitching: and you should be pleased with those gorgeous seams! I love how it looks. I love Ikea! Haven't been there in years, though (we lived too far away), but that's a neat Birthday gift. Happy Belated Birthday-- hope it was a good one. Nice to see the quilt show photos.
Slow stitching is better than no stitching, and it's very GOOD stitching, too. Thanks for sharing the pictures of the quilts. They look wonderful. It looks like a lot of modern quilts are on display. I'm going to Pigeon Forge tomorrow and I'll be interested to see if they are making a showing there, too. Love your shelves!
Here's what happens: I gather up all my stuff, settle down in the living room, ready to stitch and ... zzzzzzzz. I get too comfortable. Someone is shaking me and telling me to go to bed.
I really love the hand embroidery. yes, it's slow-go but who's in a hurry?
Ikea is my favorite place to go on a Sunday morning. We usually have breakfast then walk around. I love these shelves because they're deep. I bought a bunch of $.88 plastic boxes at Wal-mart to store all my small scraps which I plan to sort by color. Eventually.
Here all this time I thought you didn't have any stash. Goes to show what I know!
Love those strawberries, makes me hungry. I think you got a lot done and it looks great.
Congrats on the shelves, wish I had a place to put some.
At least half of that is stuff you've sent me.
Also, compared to you, I don't! :-)
And, you're kidding, right? LOL
About the stash (such as it is). The fabric on the second shelf is mostly for garments, and a lot of that was purchased by my sister-in-law who does not sew but loves to buy fabric. I make a lot of skirts for her. She loves skirts.
Those shelving units are only $40 each.
I have 2 ways to reduce my stash--sew it or send it to you! LOL!
I love those strawberries.
Shelving is a great gift. The strawberries are very impressive.
We used those shelves in our San Jose house, loved them! Molasses in January may be s-l-o-w...but just like your piece, worth the wait! LOVE!
Lovely strawberries and ric rac embellishing seams.
Nice to have some sort of order to your fabric stash.
Thanks for showing some of the quilts from the show. Inspiration abounds.
