Deborah: Naked Blocks

I have my eight red and white CQ blocks finished. I'm undecided about the center block right now. As you can see, I love toile.

Speaking of red and white, this photo pops up every time I upload photos. It's from my bonus vacation in October 2012 in Zurich. I loved their little felted slippers in this shop.

What size are your blocks? Will you be stitching in red and white?

I like the blocks, not sure about the lace piece as the center. I do like the way the toile adds to the whole design. Ditto Debra's questions.

Love the look of your CQ blocks! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on it.

Unless I am wrong, I think the middle doily is going to be stitched onto a red background (at least that's the "pinned" idea!)

The blocks look great! I really like the toile, too, and wonder how it would look as the center. The lace looks all on it's own there, but perhaps you'll be adding more lace to your blocks and then the center won't be so different.......
Looking forward to seeing your wonderful stitching on these blocks!

There are reds, and then there are in-your-face-REDS. I love your choice of reds 8-)

they look more wine-colored than red in the photo.

This is going to be another great piece! Love the reds, must be a 'red' year, I'm seeing a lot of red & white things.

Oh my. I.love.this.piece! I'm a toile fan as well. Can't wait to see how you incorporate the lace square in the middle.

I can't wait to see what stitches you choose to embellish your blocks.

I'm collecting red/white embellishments. So much for keeping it simple.

I have a small piece of cross stitch which is what inspired me to do a red and white quilt in the first place - I just can't get my hands on it at the moment.

If you don't add too many embellishments, it would be a lovely large pillow for the sofa.
