I have some basic stitching done this week. I'll start working on some more details this week - more elaborate stitching and embellishments.
Also, as I told Debra, I'm working on a purple quilt for her. There were some purple fabrics in a stash she sent me awhile back, and I've added to them. It'll be another simple 9 patch.
I'm really running late so this is a very brief post.

I think the seam treatments you have stitched look elaborate enough. With the prints as busy as they are, I doubt you are going to need very involved stitching. Just my 2¢.
Great start on the purple quilt. It'll be great for a girl in the Family Promise program.
Love the red on white to the right. Look for that to show up somewhere on something I do! The square is already looking very nice with the basic stitches. Those purples will be great together!
Another idea -- if you want more of your stitching to show on the busier fabrics (like the toile), you can stitch down a piece of solid colored ribbon over the seam and stitch on the ribbon.
I like that 'basic stitching'! It looks very rich, and is that an apple blossom or a wild rose? Looks great.
The purple quilt will look fabulous!
I love the play of red on white and vice versa. All those purples are great too, but then it IS my favorite color.

Purple nine-patch quilt will be pretty, and just right for a girl or a lady (us grown-up girls love purple too, you know).

I have gone back and forth about how much embellishment to use on the squares and I think agree with Debra that the prints are pretty busy and the toile certainly demands attention so perhaps some very basic seam treatments are all that is needed. I found a perfect floral quilt for the backing of the purple quilt, and picked up a few pieces of purple on sale at different places to add to the variety. Now, I want a purple quilt of my own!
You could piece this purple quilt as your own and as a thank you, I will quilt it for you!
