Well here she is, the Journey Through Time quilt top. I spread it across my parents' king size bed to take the photo. I was not intending it to be this large so it will net be getting any borders, just a binding sash.
My next step will be to add the names of the women in my ancestry to the plain off white squares.

It looks wonderful!
Excellent!
Great to see your vision come into its own.
Fabulous top - and that's the kind that looks best simply bound without borders anyway, I think. I know you will enjoy adding the names. Are you inking or embroidering them?
That is so freaking gorgeous. I am gob-smacked (speechless).
I don't believe the last part. I can't imagine you speechless.
Fantastic. It sure doesn't need borders. What are you using for the back?
What an achievement, and a wonderful heirloom. Congratulation, you should be pleased and proud!
Debra, you will just have to imagine me 'gob-smacked' then...........
Your Journey Through Time sure didn't take you long to do! And it's just beautiful! Yay!
I'm using a permanent pen in basic black. It would take more patience than I have to embroider them.
Love that phrase! LOL
I have a pale yellow sheet but it might not be big enough unless I add sashing.
I'm working on adding the names now, unless we get more than 2 days warm weather I figure I should be done with that part in the next 2 weeks. Warm weather lets me get my garden projects going.
Unless it is a very worn and soft sheet, sheeting is too tightly woven for hand quilting.
wow the work in this quilt is extraordinary. this would have taken me 17 years.

It is an old one. But I used a fairly new one on the one I repaired last year and it was fine.
Good!
