Susan: December Reveal/2013 Block Layout

And I'm back! No wonder I couldn't get it to work. AT&T was 26 hours late doing their part! But all is well now, so here are the pictures of the final block seams, followed by the way I think they'll go together. Sorry they are a little fuzzy. I took them in the sunlight and didn't adjust correctly.

Revamped seam:

Whole December Block:

All 12 blocks, not trimmed, but probably this layout:

Moving on to 2014!

Fantastic Collection!

Are you sure you don't want to balance out the blue blocks in the layout though?

I agree that the layout may need some massaging. Your 2 red blocks with the gold arrows (triangles) are pointing the eye off the surface. You might switch those so they point inward.

Great December block! I really like your stars on the top and the blue 'ferns' on the right.
I was thinking that it would look great having the blue blocks in the four corners, because having them all together draws my eye away from the red ones. Just a thought.......

Positive. It's a flag! =)

See answer above. This is how I planned it from the start.

We'll see. I was hoping that would help with the waving in the breeze idea. I'll think about that, try it, take photos, see if I like it better.

Not everything worked exactly the way I thought it would, but overall, I'm pleased. My plan was to have it look like a flag. I thought shifting the reds would give it more of a waving flag look, and I don't think it does, but I like it anyway. It was a tough year, not using anything really feminine. I wanted to so many times! Now that it's finished, I'm mainly pleased with it, though. Once the blocks are trimmed, it will be better, too. There are seams I love and seams I regret, but overall, it was an interesting experience.

If you are pleased, then I am pleased! :-))

I get the flag idea and think you have created a unique quilt. Is it destined for the wall or a bed. Personally I would love it for the wall.
