In the evenings, before I collapse, and after Jewel has gone to bed, there has been a little time for stitching....... ;-D...yay!
I've made a little progress on the September block:
I used a lace rose to cover the dark center, then added a piece of tatting along one seam.
In the lower right corner is another piece of hairpin lace created by my friend, Annet.
Next came a lace butterfly
and the start of a seam treatment with french knot V's.....
Lots more to do yet on this block.
I hope to have more stitching time soon
I've been puttering away on piece #8 for my wrapping cloth:
bullions....
heart lace and buttonhole lace
and the top half of piece #8 looks like this......
more bullions, another heart lace with more buttonhole lace, and some cross-stitch
bullions and cast-on stitch rings to hold these shell circles
they dangle a little
and this is how the bottom half of piece # 8 looks now......
I have one more seam to embellish, and this baby just might be finished!
I hope you've had a few good stitching weeks while I've been awol visiting with my daughter and granddaughter.
May you enjoy a wonderful week ahead.
Hugs from Suz

All beautiful. I think about these cloths often. I even bought some lace the other day at a market!
I am so glad you have been able to spend time with your daughter and Jewel xxx
Thank you, Linda. My wrapping cloth is growing, and soon I'll have to set the pieces together to see just how big it is, or how many more pieces I'll need for my cloth. I look for lace and bits everywhere I go.............
Jewel wears me out, I must admit. It's been 33 years since I've had a little toddler around-- I'm a bit rusty, but I sure wish I had her energy! lol Then I might be able to keep up...........

Wow. So much eye-candy. Sure do love your lace work, especially the buttonhole lace.
Great French knot seam on the cq block. You have had a very busy couple of weeks there.
Oh Goodness! I really love that crocheted butterfly. Beautiful!
and I love the shell circles adangling there. Such great work this past couple of weeks, Suz.
Have you given Jewel a kiss for me yet?
There's not one part I don't like. Wonderful work!
Thanks Cy--it's been sporadic, but fun.
Well, didn't you give me that lace doily with all the crocheted butterflies on it? I love using the Bf's on my blocks, since they're so delicate and pretty.
Jewel has probably been covered from head to toe with kisses several times over already........only 4 more weeks of their visit.......
Thank you! I must admit that I'm more drawn to this handworkthan I would have thought I'd be.....I turned my nose up at it when I was young....silly me!
I don't think so-it doesn't look familiar. Pretty any way and if I did, I'm glad you are using it.
All gorgeous. What beautiful work.
sigh.....so much loveliness....

Thank you, Karen!
I LOVE that wrapping cloth! Did you make the pretty butterfly? All the details are lovely. Kids do have amazing energy don't they? Visits are wonderful, but exhaustingly so.
the white work is gorgeous. I love it
Thank you, Isabelle. The white work has grabbed my attention, and I have fallen in love with it!

I wish I had the talent to create the butterfly, but as yet I cannot crochet..... I have a damaged doily ringed with these butterflies, so I'm rescuing them to add to some of my blocks.
Thanks Barbara. :-D
Thank you Deborah. I am captivated by the freedom to choose in both these projects, even though I worried that the palette restrictions I'd set for myself might limit my options too much. I think, though, it pushed me to be more creative in my stitch choices, so I could add a variety of texture. Fun!
Both pieces look wonderful. I love how your cq block is coming along, and the heart lace is beautiful!
Thank you!
just popped back to say that I love your dangles!!!
