I've finished this shawl that I worked on over the summer. The pattern,
Ridge and Furrow Triangular Shawl, by Sue Grandfield, is a free download on Ravelry.
This
is the second shawl I've made from this pattern because it is a lovely
meditative knit that's easily memorized. Plus it's striped, one of my
favorite patterns.
The colored yarn is a long color
repeat wool blend that I got on clearance. The black is recycled yarn
from a Gap sweater: a blend of wool, nylon, angora and lamb's wool.
Yummy stuff.

Very pretty, and I bet it feels soft, warm and cuddly with that blend.
Looks like chenille! Was this the shawl you were knitting when we roomed together in DC?
Great! I love the colors!
Yes, it's the same one. I think the garter stitch (which is alternated with stockinette stitch) adds texture and gives it the chenille look.
:-)
Just beautiful and so snuggly.
I love it! And the quilt it is laid out on.
I bought that quilt top on EBay. The blocks were from a stamped embroidery kit, and they're set haphazardly with that bright pink fabric. The stitching isn't well done, but the top was charming, I thought. I was very happy when Debra machine quilted it for me, and now I use it a lot.
Love the shawl.
I just printed out three knitting patterns from Ravelry. :-)
We should change the name of this group to the Tuesday Enablers! (just joking, of course!)
Yummy indeed - love the colours.
....and then I went and looked at yarn on Elan.com....
