I am laying the groundwork for a summer of stitching with a little 10 year old girl.
I am so excited!
My goal is to work some design principles into the sewing fun.
I'm relying on fabric for cues.
Here's a general mockup of the project. I'll be hand stitching the rest of the week, probably.

You are a better person than I am. But, I'm sure you will have a great time. I do not have the patience to teach. She is a lucky girl.
Sounds like a lot of fun for both of you! I remember all the laughs and giggles doing projects with Brownies
Gee I wish I had had someone like you around when I was a little girl. I got shown the basics from Mom & Nana but had to learn as I went along on my own. And we didn't even have craft shows on TV and no YouTube or Pinterest either! Gee I'm old.

Oh what fun. I remember starting a sewing club in our local primary school in UK. I had such fun teaching them, and I "learned" a lot too.
Your mock-up has a lot of happy themes and colours to inspire you both as you work.
Hey, we didn't have a TV. Most of my elementary years were spent in Germany with the US Army.
