I had very little time to actually embroider this past week due to car issues and special order pendants. But I've earned some money and have a new car so all is good!
I did get about a half hour of stitching done on Nicholas' oranges ~ the golden orange color near the needle and proceeding to the left.
One other sewing item I accomplished was wrapping my embroidery hoop. For some reason I could not find the one I usually use so I needed to wrap another.
Visit my blog post for a bit more information if you'd like.
shows but it was dark when I took the picture by car headlights.

Boy, that stitchery is impressive with all those close color changes. Love your amy! Good job keeping the deer and rabbits away.
New car? What????
I would think you definitely need to concentrate hard while doing those colour changes on the cross-stitch. Wow, impressive.
OH boy that's small...that's going to be beautiful. M
Very beautiful Amaryllis! How lovely to have one that is no longer available. I'm going to show my ignorance now and ask if Amaryllis is a bulb. =) The close-up of your stitching looks amazing. What a lot of work is going into this piece. So sorry to hear you had to work on pendants instead of stitching. What are people thinking. ;) What is your new car?
No deer in my neighborhood and I've only seen 2 rabbits in 12 years and they have never eaten anything, not even vegetables, so I think I'm safe.
The transmission (experimental and made in China I found out) was going south and they could not repair it, been in & out of the shop since Easter. I have a 2013 Ford Escape now, slightly higher payment but a vehicle I think I can depend on.
Yes it takes a lot of concentration. I have to color in the squares on the patern of the stitches I have done or I lose track. Should have seen me trying to find the right pair of reading glasses too, LOL.
It's linen, worked over 2 threads. In aida cloth it would probably be 22 count I think.
Amaryllis is a bulb, lots of people force them to bloom at Christmas inside. We are tropical here in zone 9 so they grow just fine in the garden, no special care required. My favorite kind of plant.
I don't mind special order pendants, I really enjoy making them. One lady special ordered one and then bought 3 more too! Hope your friend likes hers.
I now have a Ford Escape SUV. It's a bit bigger than my Focus but I've had a pickup before so it's no problem for me. It certainly has more power than the Focus. Too bad Ford experimented with the transmission, lots of people are having issues with it which is why they had no problem working to get me in a new vehicle.
Such fine x-stitch! Lovely colours, too, but I'd need magnification and lots of good light before I could do that. If.
Your amaryllis is beautiful! Love the white stripe. I've never seen one like that before.
That is crazy. I loved the color of your last car. What color this time?
Yeah I was rather partial to the frosted glass green. This one is charcoal grey. They had just gotten it on the lot, only had 4 miles on it. At least it is not lime green like one of the rentals they gave me.
I have a desk lamp right over it as I work and higher magnification reading glasses, 2.50 I think. One side is broken but they seem to stay on my face ok. I need to get another pair that strong.
Your project seems like a perfect one to tackle in small bites. A half hour sounds perfect. i should try working on my embroidery kit a half hour here and there.
I am glad they were able to replace your car without toooo much trouble. It's better to be safe. Now you'll have to learn another car.
