I love your choice of fabrics for this March block. The subdued palette really lets your mother's photo take center stage. Are you embellishing with the same soft colours?
Yes I plan to using some purple that I bought in Wichita at a "goodie" store, some white, off white (like antique lace that I have that was my Mom's, some gold (have a locket that was hers with her initials on the back) mostly soft colors some flowers, lace. She loved lace and loved flowers.
I am thinking of using some of her other pictures as well in other blocks. Will work it out as I go have several ideas in my head.

What colors are you going to use for this project?
How many blocks to expect to have altogether? Should be an interesting project.
I just love these pieces with photos that are being used and your fabric choices are lovely. Can't wait to see where you go with this block.

Sounds great!
Good luck working it out as you go! that always, always gets me in a bind.
I'm glad to see you working on this one. I look forward to seeing what you do. The colors sound wonderful!
One reason for my choice of purple/yellow Mom always liked Pansy's.
Maybe you could find some pansy fabric & do some broderie perse flowers. Purple and yellow is a nice color scheme.
This is gorgeous Pat. Love all the ideas you have mentioned that you would like to add to this block. Can't wait to see it progress.
