Valentine Hearts
I somewhat neglected sewing Birthday and Christmas gifts last year and plan to rectify this in 2013
As I have a few February Birthdays I thought a trio of silk hearts was appropriate.
As to this year's sewing goals, well I have a sampler quilt to finish and so many patterns and kits, which should keep me pretty busy.

This is a beautifully feminine heart and gift. Lucky the recipient!
Those hearts are gorgeous, can you share a pattern?
Angela, they are so simple. Take a square of fabric (mine was 7"), cut into 2 triangles, sew together leaving a 2" gap, turn and stuff the MIDDLE only. Sew the opening closed, bring the 2 "ears" together, overlap by 1/2" and catch in place. I wanted to hang mine, so I covered rings with seam binding and slipped over one of the "ears" before stitching together. Also I decorated my triangles before sewing. I like using seam binding and spritzed to make it crinkly before using. Enjoy.
Aren't you too clever? and you do not need "kits"!
Just a minute, I can't take credit for these they're not my pattern. I do need kits and patterns, even for triangle hearts lol. BTW I stabilised my silk fabric before cutting.
So pretty and feminine! A nice gift for sure. I'd make mine stuffed with lavender if they're not too big. They'd be great on clothes hangers to scent both the clothing and the closet. I never used to get pretty things for myself....maybe getting older just makes me appreciate pretty and feminine more.
These are lovely, and perfect for Valentine's Day!
Oh, how pretty those are! What lovely gifts. I hope they will be treasured. Thanks for sharing how they are made. I still think it's magic. =)
Lovely! I'll bet someone was very pleased!
