Sorry this is late....we've had problems with our satellite connection during the past 2 days due to the rain and snowstorms, so I wasn't able to post.
CQJP 2012 is in the process of being joined with sashing I've reclaimed from an old curtain......it looks like filet lace.

CQJP 2013
I have to claim another strip between the second and third rows, and then I hope to have enough left with a zig-zag edge to place around the outside.
18 threads make up this braided rope
some delicate pink added to the earth tone buttonhole rings
pink French knots
and the block looks like this:
I have this beautiful piece of dyed lace to add.........I think it picks up the tones already in the block and the stitching.
What do you think?
Thanks.
Hugs from Suz

The light colored sashing sets off your Christmas blocks very nicely. The details of your new embroidery are really spectacular. I especially like those embellished buttonhole rings: great color palette.
Love the sashing. Great choice, and you didn't have to buy any new fabric, lol.
Beautiful new block. I especially like the 18 thread braid. Yes that dyed lace piece would be perfect for it.
Like how your sashing doesn't detract from the Christmas blocks, but enhances the whole piece of work. Perhaps traditional lace would have made everything too fussy. It really is picture perfect. Your colour 2013 colour palette could be built around your beautiful dyed lace,
Such a beautifully feminine color palette for this year's blocks! So lovely and especially the dyed piece.
Great addition with the lace for your Christmas blocks. I really like the final arrangement too.
Reclaiming curtain fabric, should we rename you Scarlet O'Hara? Great idea for the sashing.
Love the CQJP, so delicate looking. That floral embellishment is perfect!
I love how your first 2013 block looks. That piece of lace is just perfect with the background. Did you dye it? The curtain looks like the perfect joining for your 2012 blocks.
I love your 2013 blk! The lace fits perfectly.
Thanks! I purchased the hand-dyed lace from NickiLee Seavey( ravioli dreams). Her laces are marvelous, and she has a gentle hand with the colour so they have a vintage feel to them.
