I have to sew this border on, and will update this post later today when I do. Here are some close-ups you haven't seen:

Here's the final picture of the top, completed!
I'll talk about my 2013 project next weekend. It's totally different, and has very different goals from this year's. I printed out the silkies this morning, and I'm very excited to get started on it, though I'm starting a month behind. That's okay. I'll catch up more easily with 6" blocks!

Fabulous stitching, Susan! Love that umbrella and the other embellishments near it. Your feather stitch is always beautiful!
Your stitching is so dainty and pretty! I love the colour choices, too, and look forward to the final reveal, and to the 2013 project.
What a finely stitched leaf section!
6" blocks? You could do those in your sleep!!
Lovely delicate stitching, like how you've decorated the lace and your little umbrella would surely be a must have item for SBS.
My favorite is the lace with the little crosses and the umbrella and the butterfly and.........
Thank you all! I had a great time with this border, and I'm feeling just the *slightest* bit of finish-let down. =) Next month, I'll do the backing and plan to use button trails at intersections to stabilize it, but my goal for this month is reached!
It's hard to get a good picture of the whole thing, so I took pictures of it by quarters, and I'll post those on the cq4fun blog in a little while, after I eat some lunch.
I went in and enlarged your photo. We don't want to miss anything!
Feels good to have reached your goal, I bet! Lovely work from such a talented stitcher!!

Thank you all for your kind comments. I feel almost as if I've lost speed now. I need to get moving on my new blocks, but I did nothing but make them! Next week I will stitch. Really. I will!
