I have made block # 1 this last week & am learning how to do the blogging stuff. Will start working on the seams this evening and also plan to make another block.
I think I will name this "A New Challenge" for year 2013.
I also will work on the block that I made when I went to Judith Baker Monatano's class. However, I didn't realize it was a 2 day class so I will do the emblleshing on my own.

A very good start to your "New Challenge" Pat. Nice to see a rich piece of velvet being used here.
Love all those pretty fabrics. I'll be watching to see where you go with your block.
Lovely fancy fabrics--the kind that scare the daylights out of me!
I like your fabric choices, Patricia! Those few darker tones really highlight the soft pastels. Looking forward to more.
Yes, I am wondering your plans for thread, Patricia. I would be tempted to use dark tones like the blues. What will you do?
It's always exciting seeing a blank canvas and speculating about it's stitching journey.
Welcome again, Pat. It looks like you're off to a good start! It will be fun to see where you go with this.
Your block looks good! Such nice contrasts, almost like a log cabin growing darker from the center out to the edges. I know you will put wonderful stitching on it, too.
