I've been sewing steadily for days but it was not enough to finish today. I predict at least another day of hand sewing before my 'Sewing' CQ is finished.
Now I am sewing the outside edge of the trim. I think this trim works well -- it looks like embroidery without the effort!
I'll be here next weekend with a finished CQ (or else!). Have a great week!
This morning I started hand sewing the black trim as the inner border.

I do like that trim you are using, works very well. I'm not an orange person but I really like the vibrancy of this piece.
Working around the color wheel broadened my perspective on a number of colors. Hmm, purple being one of them! (I love orange!)
I like orange too although it's not a color I go to very often. I love the black trim. Can't wait to see the finished piece.
I think that trim looks great! Looking forward to the final reveal!
What a tease! I wait with bated breath for next weekend.
Your trim is perfect! I, too, can't wait to see the whole thing. People are going to be flocking to your sewing room to check this out! I hope you can unstick yourself from the chain in time to greet them. LOL
That is a great trim. Miles of it to do by hand! It's worth every bit of time you are taking on it.
Minute by Minute Update (ha! ha!!):
Trim is done.
Label is digitized.
Sleeve is sewn on.
Getting ready to anchor the intersections of the blocks.
Next up--binding!
I see the finish line and it is Mine!!
It's been awhile since I've mitered corners too but they came out fine.
I love the trim around your block fits perfectly with the block. Love your button cluster. Can't wait for the unveiling of the whole piece of art work, are you doing a wall hanging?
Yes, a wallhanging and it's Done! Reveal on Sunday!
Roll on Sunday.
Just one question for ya though Debra..... why did you choose to hand stitch the black trim instead of machine stitching it?
I like to know these things in case I can learn from it.
(((( plus, I'm a nosy beggar ))))
All those last steps do add up don't they? Ask me how I know. I'm looking forward to seeing you cross the finish line with this one.
