Embroidered dress form looks quite quirky with its butterfly wings. The colours of the smaller butterfly are magic and I love how the embroidered stems and leaves lead to a button flower. Tatting, well what can I say except its gorgeous.
I'm trying very hard to use my embellishments. That rainbow butterfly was from a set of earrings I found in the clearance bin. Earrings make such good embellishments!
Very pretty! And you answered my question about the rainbow butterfly. Thought maybe you'd dyed it, but it sounds like non-fabric? Lovely stitching and I love the butterfly ribbon, too!
The rainbow butterfly is metal--kind of a filigree. The ribbon is another of that collection from the $1 bin at Michaels.
You can't see them well in the main picture but those white buttons across the top are vintage buttons a friend gave me. They are really delicate & pretty.
It's a wonderful block, all together and as individual elements. The teal and turquoise cording that you sewed down is really a great unifying piece, and I just like the way it looks.
Love the purple, the rhythm in this block, and the fun you're having with it. ('course i love the tatting, too. LOL!) Wonderful butterflies, and such harmony.
Butterflies, and more butterflies. Of course I LOVE this block, lol.
p.s I have just caught up with looking at all your pics that I've missed over the last couple months. Absolutely gorgeous stitching has been happening here in my absence.

Next year I should try harder to hand embroider some butterflies. Or not! Ha! ha!
