Wouldn't you know it? In my effort to get ahead, I did a whole section the other evening with the fly stitch. Well, maybe I can put this elsewhere on the block and visually link them.
Strange, but I'd planned to do fly stitch, do you think this could be used instead?
Absolutely! If you read Sharon's directions she says it's a fly stitch with a french knot at the bottom. Sounds easy!
OT
I'm taking an online 3 week creative embroidery course and thought I'd share a little nugget of information.
"When using threads with a twist (perle) the twist should be running down the thread, and the top end is inserted into the needle. Normally the thread wound on a card or spool can be threaded directly onto the needle. If you are working with the skein you will need to determine which end is the proper end to work with. To find the twist, place your finger and thumb over the thread, run your fingers up and down the length, one end will be smoother than the other. The smooth end is threaded into the needle."
Apologies if you already know this.
Great.
I was wanting to do some French Knots this week, so it looks like I might be doing this stitch with it ;)
Thank you! I did not know this!
Interesting tip, thanks!
Computer issues this weekend. I'll catch up when it's all straightened out. iPhone is too small for blogging!
That's a sorry state to be in Debra, and expensive too I expect. Hope you get it sorted soon. At least you have the excuse to stitch some more now instead of being online, lol.
I pulled out the spare laptop and now have it set up. Wes has just enough tech savvy to be dangerous but he can at least get a computer running.
The hard drive for my other laptop is nothing ($75) but the labor is $200. It is just over 2 years old and that's the part I find very annoying.
