Carol - TAST, Beaded Hebedo Stitch

Honeymooning in ASIA

Beaded Hedebo Edge
perle 8 - triangular beads

Had to have a couple of goes and was pleased I had a copy of the A-Z of Embroidery Stitches!  Firstly I made my cross stitches too small - they have to be fairly bold, but may have another go using a finer thread but with decent sized crosses.

Wonderful image to build around. Carol, are you going to continue your travels for CQJP 2013?

Yes, they are quite attractive this month - blue violet/yellow orange.

Well, you said I could do glamour and glitz now we'll see if I can do elegant.

No, I don't think so Connie, almost twelve months of travelling is sufficient. I've other mountains to climb in 2013 - tatting, embroidered butterflies to name but two.

Carol, I hate to see your travel blocks come to an end because it has been such a fun journey, but I don't blame you. I'm not planning on doing TAST or BJP again real soon. I may do CQJP 2013, but go a different direction. Like you I would like to keep some time to play around with new ideas.

Sharon doesn't run TAST every year--every 3 or 4 years.

I doubt I will do any organized challenges in 2013. One year will be enough for me too.

I absolutely love your center! She's so wonderful, and the colors are perfect. I like the edge on the ribbon.

This is a very striking block. The hebedo stitch provides a nice accent.

Your hebedo looks great. I like all the variations I am seeing on different blogs. Yes, it's a stitch that needs some experimenting with I think.
The Asia block is looking good so far, and the Eastern colour scheme is an interesting one. I look forward to seeing more.

Aha! So, Sarah and her cowboy (does he have a name?) are off to Asia, eh? Great looking hedebo stitch; looks like the practicing paid off! OI love the center piece also, really sets the tone for the whole block. Might that be Sarah in disguise?
