This stitch was super easy and reminiscent of a couple of other stitches we have done this year.
I used the knotted buttonhole as a border stitch for this pseudo funereal card. Black cotton perle, 10g is what the label says on the spool.
It might be considered macabre but I am fascinated with funereal memorabilia. The old Victorian cards are usually very elegant but I think Ms. Post would approve of mine.

Yes, she would.
Have you been to the funeral museum in Houston?
Your knotted buttonhole looks so fine and fringe like, lovely stitching.
I'm sure she would! Nicely done frame. That must have taken a long time.
Yes I have, fascinating place. Lot so fun with my friend and her 4 year old.
Actually about 4 hours total!
:-)
It's a bit adult for a 4 year old, IMHO.
Very nice and understated. Emily would definitely approve.
I think she's smiling her approval! Just realized that you really do a reveal every week!!!! And such fun and interesting ones at that.
Not macabre at all me thinks. Just a part of life is the inevitable ending.
Very neatly stitched knotted buttonhole. Glad you had a fairly easy week of it this week. Sometimes it's good to keep it simple, and in this case "less is more".
But really, Josiah was never a 'child'. He loved it and was only disappointed they didn't have a mock demo of the embalming. The docent was taken aback as you can imagine.
I spent 2 days in pain with a UTI and 2 days ready to pass out from all I had to do at work so I'm glad this went fast too.
Great thing to memorialize. I was brought up with Emily Post and The Army Wife, as the end-all and be-all of lady like behavior. =) I love that picture. It's so perfect of the times. Your knotted buttonhole border is just the thing for this one.
