Carol, this scalloped edge is fantastic! It may (will) be showing up on one of my projects too. Perfect thread for this. I enjoy your CQ travel blocks so much and Egypt will be fun to watch develop.
Isn't it strange how things work out? I only used the scallops because I didn't think flower type stitches would work for Egypt. When I'd completed the scallops I could still see the seam line and that is why the bugles got a showing.
Your cast-on stitches have taken on a lotus plant look when used in this theme. Very Egyptian. An excellent seam treatment for this block. Love the colours too.

That is a really nice scalloped edge! Oh, I may steal this for my Mother & Child piece.
About how many wraps did you do?
Oh yes, please do, "I'd" love to be on your Mother and Child piece! 12 wraps spaced 1cm apart.

I loved stitching all my blocks, but my favourite will have to be New Zealand because it felt so very personal.
I shall be stealing-err-borrowing this, too! Love the cast-on as a scalloped edging! A nice thread you've used, too.
Lovely! Those beads work perfect with it too. This will be a fun block.

The scallop takes the stitch out of the flower range completely.

Love the way the addition of the bead makes your scalloped edge look like a garland. Would be a fun way to decorate a Christmas tree!
I'm assuming you mean a really small, fake one printed on fabric. Otherwise, I think you may have some bonkers with that idea! *wink*
What a beautiful set of cast-on stitches. :) Is the image right above them rubber-stamped onto the cloth?
No Tahlia, it's a downloaded image, which I've printed onto fabric.
Ah! :) It looks lovely.
What a beautiful swag, it reminds me of a section of drapery embellishment.
Love this scalloped edging! Love the piece it's on, too.
