Basque Stitch
The flowers were not meant to have button centres, but as the centres were a bit hit and miss in they went. Couched stems and stem stitch leaves/twiggy bits!
I quite enjoyed Basque Stitch and hope to practice a little more perhaps on my facing page. Haven't been able to focus much this week on sewing for some reason.
Better get a move on - only 1 stitch remaining for July.

Lovely as flowers!
July has been a bit of a slump month for me too. I can't get the mojo going like I want (for this project). I can see a few days of concentrated sewing coming my way in order to get my block done.
Ooh, I love the flowers! The button centers make me smile--looks like two eyes peeking at me. French knot eyes? Very cute!
Oh Suz, now I see them as eyes too and they look quite scary! I think Debra used the French knot button embellishment sometime ago, but her's didn't look scary, perhaps they had four eyes.
LOL!!! Ole 4 eyes! (yes, they did!)
We are so interpretive here, aren't we?
Makes me worried what people really think of my work when they see it! LOL!
We are so lucky, July has 5 Tuesdays so we actually have 2 more stitches this month!
And I checked as well! Wonderful, that's great news oh superior one.
:-)
Your flowers are perfect, great use for this stitch! The center buttons are perfect too, just meant to be.
Wasn't Frank Sinatra referred to as ole four eyes, or perhaps it was ole blue eyes.
Oh No! Really? For those of us who wore glasses in school, we definitely know the difference!
Touché, I think I asked for that.
Nice. I love the flowers with the buttons!
So, when is our July reveal? (Can you tell I've been procrastinating?)
Good use of the Basque stitch. Lovely flowers encroaching on the toi toi grass fabric, lol.
It was old blue eyes. Your flowers are very pretty and not the least bit scarey. I like the shape of those buttons too.
Great flowers! The Basque stitch handles small curves very nicely.
