Judy ~ May SBS ~ TAST, Knotted Cretan ~ Finis!

Somehow I just couldn't imagine using the knotted cretan on SGS's tulips, and thankfully the bird, my attempt at a painted bunting, was begging for something to carry, so, "voila!" The knotted cretan became a stem of daisy buds. The tulips are supposed to be those fancy red and white striped ones; my discovery was that the buttonhole stitch works around unusual shapes rather well. Whether it's the tulip-look, is your call. Happy June, everyone! How'd that happen so fast?

This quilt better not become a "drag along" quilt. My suggestion: put it under glass with a padlock! *wink*

So fine!

Knotted Cretan works perfectly there! I'm liking the pops of red on your tulips too. Still my favorite block of Sue so far.

Yep, I'm reconsidering. Had planned to give it to Sophia, but can't stand the "dragging" idea either. Think it may be a keeper.....

Glad you like the tulips. I was afraid they were too much.

I had big plans for CQ pillows on the couch until Wes said, "You realize that the only "person" who sits on the couch is Elmo (our dog), don't you?" It definitely put that idea into perspective right fast.

What a creative use for buttonhole stitch! Sue looks pretty wonderful.

Thanks! It was interesting how well it followed the shape.

Wonderful conclusion to the block! I have ONE of those tulips in my yard. I bought an entire 5-bulb pot of colors I'm not crazy about (you know the ones!) just so I could have the red/white one. =)

Thanks, Carol. I'm looking forward to seeing your block.

Lucky you to have one of those tulips. Our squirrels think we plant tulips for their dining enjoyment, but daffodils which they hate do just fine.

Looks like the bird is bringing SBS the bunch of daisy buds to add to her posy. Great use of the stitch.
Good idea on the tulips. I like those red and white striped ones too. Had a bed of them in my English garden.
