Love tha tatted heart! And the red flower buttons. Nice stitching.
Very hard to say which part's my favorite!
Well, had a look at your blog and saw your deliberations and just have to say that you got everything so right - great block. Love the button cluster, tatted heart, evertyhing on the red fabric and your pink satin stitch hearts are cute.
Your blocks are always filled with fun. Your button cluster is really nice and adds so much to this block and I love that tatting. Pretty fancy silver rick rack also. Love those white dots on the red fabric on your next block. I look forward to seeing how you proceed with this block.
Lots of eye-candy here Suz. Love the embroidery on the red silk fabric on the right, and the zig-zag seam treatment there is fabulous too.
A rather successful block me thinks.
Very festive! Pretty heart too.
Thanks for your comments, everyone. I appreciate them. I've been madly dancing trying to catch up.......fah, la la, mi, mi...oh!
I LOVE the tatted heart! So pretty! and I like the wavy lines couched down next to it-- gives it a festive, active feeling! The sequin flowers are adorable! Are they part of a pre-made trim, or did you make them? I can never seem to get them right when I try to make them. I also love the little cast-on stitch / tatted round flowers with bead centers on the right hand side of the block. They are so subtle, and they add a really nice textural nuance.
Your next block looks like it will be lots of fun!
:) I liked the post on your blog where you showed the various versions as you made your decisions!
I can't take credit for the sequin flowers, Peacock. They are a pre-made trim and I just sewed them on a white lace. I like those cast-on stitch/tatted flowers, too. The thread I used is gently variegated from a pink to a rose-red ( the same thread I used for the satin-stitched hearts) but it doesn't show up well in the pic.
Thanks Jenclair. I figured I should show why I hadn't done any stitching on this for two weeks.....lol
The lovely tatted heart is the "beautiful heart" of the block. Well done, on to the May block!
Thank you Marjolein. Fox tats beautifully, doesn't she?
Hugs
I went over and looked at your blog. I see now why I don't plan the whole block. LOL. I actually did like the thing with the three heart beads along that red squiggly line. I also like the white heart, but I'm sure you'll find someplace else to use that. I do especially like the rickrack with the green bugle beads. Overall look is quite nicely red!
I liked the heart beads there, too, but felt I needed to direct the eye away from the button trail end. I might add it to another block........Thanks CQ4fun
