Susan: V-Stitch Seam

I go back and forth on how I feel about this seam. I loved it when it was the base seam (the central purple Vs - both sizes - and green triangles) and I wish I'd take a picture of it at that point, to refer to another time. Then I added the sequins and beads, and I didn't like it. It seemed to subtract something instead of adding, but I'm not a big fan of bling, and those sequins seem very bling to me.

After I added the purple lazy daisy stitches and the two pistil stitches in green on each little purple V, I liked it much better. I know most people would put 3, to keep it odd, but I liked 2, to keep it V. =)

Now if I'm not careful, I'm going to be behind after tomorrow!

I am a big fan of bling and I do like this seam. It appears from what I can see that the variety of color will work wonderfully with your silkie. I also like that this seam treatment actually acts more as a filler adding interest to your plain band of pink fabric.

What bling?

An excellent seam treatment, Susan! I agree with Connie that this has a nice textural filler effect.

This is nice, Susan. I like green and purple together, so there's no question that I'll like this, and the bits of sequin bling are good, too. Neat idea using pistil stitch V's!

I like this seam too. Perhaps the 'thing' that might be bothering you Susan, is that the sequins are blue, but this area of the block is pink and green, so that the blue is prominent here. Personally I like that about it. The blue also goes with the thread colour transition from green to purple. So I think it is a great statement for that seam. Well done you.

Your V stitches are a nice sample of what can be achieved with creative designing.

I agree with everyone else here - I really like the "V" formations, they're interesting and unexpected. The colors are great, I love the purple and green together. The sequins are just fine to me, they really add something to the entire seam treatment. I'd say it's just great. Really lovely.
