Susan: TAST 19 CQJP

Here's the progress. There will be more done on that bouquet, but not with bullion stitches.

Not sure why I did the stitching around the butterfly except it seemed the right thing to do. =)

Pretty bullion roses! I like the stitching around the butterfly....makes it seem as though it's fluttering.

Nice roses! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow even if you don't know why.

Think your butterfly is fluttering towards those very pretty bullion roses, with their variegated petals, who could resist.

L-O-V-E that bouquet!

Great bouquet, Susan! Love the way the variegated thread looks in that one big rose, too.

The roses and the butterfly go together so well for this block.
I'm envious of how you got your bullion knots so neat. Perfect for roses and that is a great choice of thread colour for them.

The roses are wonderful, and I like the bow you added to the bouquet!

Your bullion roses in the red variegated threads are really pretty! I like your stitches added around the butterfly too. Your block is coming along so nicely.

Thanks. I learned this stitch at Piecemakers in California quite a few years back. It will never be my favorite, (though I said that about some other stitches I eventually learned to like!) but I like to throw a few in now and then. This is the Sassa Lynne thread, perle 8. It seems to take a lot of effort to make something I like with bullions!

Thank you all for your positive reinforcement on the bouquet. It doesn't seem quite as ugly now. =)

I really like the bouquet as is. It's simple and sweet. No need to overdo it, IMHO.

It's truly my kind of bouquet - full of half-baked buds and flowers. =) And a little wild looking.

I like those kinds of bouquets--reminds me of what kids bring in for their moms!
