The four are a little fuzzy, but you get the idea. I did something wrong when taking the picture. No surprise there! I wanted to see if they really go together. It seems that as I go, things change more with each block. This isn't how they will go together, but it will do for now. What do you think? Do they seem like they belong together?

Yes, quite lovely together, actually.
I'm having a little trouble with the turquoise butterfly and the "rickrack" being more obvious in color and dominance than everything else. But maybe you have a grand scheme that will work those out somehow.
Grand plan? You mistake me for someone who plans ahead! I've never actually cared for that seam, but I might tone it down with tea dye.
Ha! Ha! or maybe some lace or trim running through the middle or something.
Oh, this is delightful! I'm feeling spring and frolicking in the early flowers, dancing in the sunlight and magic gardens! (the block--not me. lol)
I think the lovely pastels of all 4 blocks go together quite nicely.
Love your pastel colours and for some reason your fairies might be dancing on a piano as the stitching reminds me of piano keys and the French knots are really musical notes floating in the air. Sorry, think I should go and lie down in a darkened room!

They are most lovely and very fairy like so I guess you are going in the right direction!
Are you going to sash the blocks? Love the beaded lace that surrounds the spider web. BTW, where's Spidey? For me the purple rick rack-color works when all the blocks are put together because the block in the lower right echoes that color. Love the various flower motifs on either side of Ms. Hydrangea. Maybe you could add some orange or purple stitches to your butterfly or make something else on another block with the same turquoise thread? It's going to be a very pretty wall hanging, Susan. What's the size of the block? It's hard to tell from the photo. Can't wait to see the next fairy!
I'm not sure there will be a spider. He may have left home. =) No sashing. There are 5 more blocks to do like this. These won't go together this way. When I have all 9, then I will decide what goes where. The blocks are 9" finished size. I laid out more fairies today, and there will be a blue one, a peachy one, another yellow and a pink, and I'm not sure about the last one.
These are so sweet Susan, and I think they all go together nicely. There is one bit that jumps out at me thought, the pink/yellow zigzag on the bottom left block. It could do with being a little "quieter" in my humble opinion.

Susan, your blocks are just beautiful. You have repeated the colors from the fairies so well. The colors look pastel but not too faded. Your stitching compliments the look perfectly with all the curves and vines and lots of interest. I love how they all work together.
Sometimes the colors may not come across accurately in photos or on our monitors. The top image of the single block looks very color cohesive to me, but then when seen in the photo with the other blocks the butterfly pops a bit, so it may just be how it shows up in the photo?
Your fairy blocks are really magical! As Connie mentions, you have matched your stitching so well to the them with a light and joyful touch!
That may be. Neither of the two "hot spots" shows as dark in real life, either. In the two new pieced blocks, there are a couple of darker fabrics, so we'll see how that affects the mix, too.
It is all a matter of balance for the finished pieces. I know my colors stand out a lot more than in person on a couple of my blocks but it is difficult to adjust one color family without it affecting the other colors. I photograph my tags for TAST each week and looking at them separately you would never guess they are all cut from the same cloth.
I love each of these blocks! No sashing, eh. . . To me, sashing would allow each block to stand out more.
I agree with your comment about photographing; it's hard to get a picture that accurately depicts the colors and balance of the blocks. In fact, my sense that they need sashing is probably the result of the photographing rather than the reality of what the piece looks like in person.
The fairies are just so delightfully sweet!
