It is well worth your time to take a look at this video with the remarkable Erica Wilson. I am going to estimate this circa 1970s. Her explanation is very good with large stitches so you know exactly how to stitch the shisha. Also, notice her alternative suggestions for shisha mirrors!

I can remember watching some of her programs in the late 70's while I was home with babies. I wasn't really into handwork then, though, silly me.
Yes, I think this is the clearest explanation I have found. Watching and hearing her convinced me I could do it. I'll have mine done today!
