Judy~Butterfly Chain Stitch and Other Bugs, TAST

This stitch landed on the yoke of Sue's dress. It's probably easier to do with thicker thread? After last week's post, I had fun trying a couple of ideas from my A-Z of Bullions book. Can you find them? Finally got around to stitching Sue's backrest as well as the leaves. The latter was a rather feeble attempt at the raised  fishbone stitch. At this point, I'm hoping that the next stitch will be useful for the tulips.....time will tell! Today is our grandson's third birthday. In case you'd like to see what he's getting from us, check my blog. If you also look on the sidebar, there's a choir link to a video of our presentation of Gjielo's Sunrise Mass; it's a wonderful piece of music.

Another good application of the stitch. Keep it in mind for a future hatband too.

Having 5 Tuesdays in a month isn't working for me, either. My page is essentially done. Depending upon Tuesday's stitch, I may have a spot for it but it's not necessary to the page's success.

Good idea for a hatband, thanks! Lots more of them for sure.Depending on the stitch, I may "save" it for June.

That thought crossed my mind too.

I am loving the way the stitches are working for Sue. I really like you color choices too. She is my fav so far. Yes, I believe I have found your bullions buzzing around.

SBS gets more gorgeous, love the bugs. By week 5 think it will be a case of "if you've got it flaunt it!"

Love the "smocking" look to the front of her dress. And the bugs - that lady bug is perfect, and so is the larger bee, for the design of the bug and colors with the bullion stitch. It's all looking great! Can it really be 3 years already?

And even more amazing, his big brother is SEVEN!

I had to count on my fingers, but yeah, it's been 7 years since we went on the road full time! To the day.

SBS is looking so cute! I love the bullion bugs. The butterfly chain stitch works great as a mock smocking.

Lol, love the ladybird on the tree stump. And the bullion bee is so cute with great stitch combinations.
The dress yoke is a good use for this butterfly chain stitch.
I still can't get over your yellow bullion flowers. So perfect (in a natural way).

Your SBS blocks just keep getting better and better! I love the bullion bugs you added, and the way you balanced the colors throughout the block! It has so much color and detail that there is something new to see in every corner, but it still manages to have a restful feeling, too! Wow. Very nice.

Thanks, Tahlia! Are you still stitching at X-roads?
