Debra: TAST-Crossed Buttonhole Stitch

I now have a new "Go To" Stitch--loved the crossed buttonhole. I love all buttonhole stitches so it's nice to have a variation to work.

As you are looking at CQ ideas, if you come across some interesting ideas for embroidering rickrack, I would be interested to see them.  I have a lot of rickrick in future projects and I don't want it all to have the detached chain in the valley.

Nice ladder effect and the french knots are pretty too.

You have returned to your original time slot? Welcome back.

Your crossed buttonhole looks great! I really like it paired with the ribbon and french knots on this seam.

I think I may come back to 8. I like it better. It forces me to get my stitching done by Friday.

I was pretty impressed how the checked ribbon changed with the stitching. I was able to use the checks as a guideline.

It's really pretty from a distance too.

Looks like netting, love it with the French knots, great texture.

It's amazing the power of french knots. They are like pearls to a black dress.

Silly week followed by touchy feely and now poetic!

We have it all here!

I can see how this could become a "go to" stitch for you! Love the way the opposing rows look!

I like the mirror imaging, very pretty seam. For rick rack, have you looked at Kathy Shaw's TSiTM series? A bunch of those, about in the middle, were on rick rack. If you aren't familiar with them, e-me and I'll send you a link.

I just took my cue from the ribbon.

Yes, it will definitely be a 'go to' stitch for me too. I really liked this new-to-me stitch, and I really like your pairing with the French Knots too.

It's like a linked cross stitch. I stitched quite a bit of it yesterday on another project and like it very much.

I love the way your crossed buttonholes create a latticed look. The angles are perfectly oriented to visually "continue" on opposite sides of the center French knots. Fabulous!
