Cy - reveal - TAST Butterfly Chain - and.....

Here is my TAST Butterfly Chain

Strange that I used the yellow and orange colours too.
I was going for a rustic look while using this stitch.

And then I used it on ribbon.

And........

A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do....

My 'other' project for this week is - a Cross Stitch Biscornu pin cushion. Just because I want one (and I have been secretly envious of Angela's Biscornu since she showed us a pic of her workdesk).

I adapted and added to a basic one-colour chart for this cross stitch piece and made it 'mine'.
I wanted a jewel-like colour scheme to brighten the coffee table next to where I sit and stitch.

I have stitched some of my CQ too, but have not taken photos yet so you will have to wait for next weeks reveal for the finished photos.
So that's me for this week.

Happy Stitching

Love, love, love the biscornu! What great colors. Did you create the design?

Very clever with the biscornu, would love to tackle one, but it remains on my to do list. Pretty butterfly chain.

I like the idea of the Butterfly Chain as a couching stitch--will be remembering that application.

What a beautiful biscornu!

Love ALL your bright colors today! The butterfly chain looks great, never thought about using it to couch down something else. Clever you.
Beautiful biscornu in some of my favorite colors. Aren't they fun?

The original design was not mine Judy, but I sort of changed and added bits to make it unique for me. The original was stitched in one colour only, but I needed lots of colour for mine, lol.

This was my first Biscornu Carol. The hardest bit was stitching the two buttons (one on top and one underneath) to squash the thing into the correct shape.

Thanks Debra, I will be using this stitch again too. Trouble is there now are so many stitches that I want to remember to use again, I don't know how to remember which stitches I want to remember to use again. I shall have to write myself a book I think (I must remember that as well now).

Thanks Angela, and the Biscornu idea is all YOUR fault, lol, (and thank you, I am happy now).

I have put extra photos and colour scheme ideas on my blog

I read a hint lately--take pics on your Iphone and store them in folders so you can look in your IPhone when you stitch.
Or, you could take pics, develop them and keep them in a little photo album to thumb through when looking for ideas.

Love the biscornu, and those colours are happy ones. The yellow butterfly really pops against the orange and purple, and looks super. I wouldn't have thought to couch with that stitch--smart idea!

Thank you Suz, I like how we all have a different interpretation of the same stitch and we learn from each other and 'grow' new ideas.

The biscornu is beautiful. Your butterfly chain is very nicely executed, too. I like the first photo a lot, where it goes around the shapes. That makes a very nice texture.

I really love what you did with the butterfly chain-- the yellow stitching accents the purple and orange patches very nicely! Your biscornu pincushion is wonderful. You really have a fun sense of color. :)

I must agree with everyone concerning your stitching. Couching with the butterfly chain appears to have worked out wonderfully. The biscomu pincushion is beautiful with lots of bright cheery colors. Excellent week of stitching Cy.

Oops, biscornu. I have had a long, busy weekend and it is early.
