Carol: TAST - Butterfly Chain Stitch

Having finally sorted which way to wrap my thread I was good to go and found this a quick and easy stitch.   Tiny rectangles of silk were attached to my base fabric and linked with butterfly stitches and a bead then added to the silk.  Perle 8, size 10 bead.

Nice butterflies but am just totally impressed with how those little pieces of silk look. Great job!

Looks like lots of kite tails swirling in the sky. Delightful scene.
Well done Carol, very creative. I like it a lot.

Kite tails maybe, but I was thinking branches with the chopped silk as blossoms - obviously in the eye of the beholder!

I saw kite tails too.

Like Susan's "neckline"--everyone sees something that triggers an idea.

I really like this motif, it looks great and original! Kite tails did come to mind the first glance I had.

I might see branches and blossoms when I get to see this in the context of the whole block Carol, but until then I still like what I see, lol.

I like how you used tiny little scraps of silk and folded them before stitching them down! I must remember to try that some time. :) It adds great texture and color. The butterfly chain stitch looks great! I, also, think of kites in the wind with long tails dangling behind. I can also see the blossoms on branches idea.

I love this Carol. There are so many possibilities for this stitch. The added silk pieces ad another dimension and so much interest. I also like the way you let it trail into the adjoining section. You did such a nice job on your chains as well, with nice tension between.
