Here we are with my embroidery journal page for this past week. Butterfly chain stitch is pretty easy and looks great too. Lots of decorative uses for this stitch. It should technically have had a black background but I didn't have any dark material so I just went with what I had, more aida cloth.
The subject is Pac-man, the game was released on May 22 in 1980. I think pretty much everyone has played this game.
This photo at an angle shows the butterfly chain the best. If I had had that dark or black background they would have shown up so much better. White on white gets rather lost. I did try a color but it just didn't look right. I used cotton floss on everything but the butterfly chain which is rayon, 2 strand for the bars and 1 strand for the chain.

Haha, Angela. Such a frustrating game when you get eaten all the time. I never could quite get on with computer games. The only one I play now is patience, lol.

Super butterfly, the rayon thread Has a lovely sheen and sits so well with the blue.
Definitely a game during my boys' lives but not one that I ever embraced. Creative idea!
I actually prefer the old style pinball machines, I used to be quite good. I hate tetris though. Now I mainly play mahjong.
My favourite game of all time was Rebound! Now I play Breakout--I have the orders of my opthamologist to play computer games on a regular basis because one of the meds I take can affect my peripheral vision. I go to be tested, but I flunked my first test.......because I'm 'of that age' that wasn't glued to a gameboy.....lol....So now when DH complains I'm on the comp too long, I just tell him I'm following Dr's orders! heheheh

Lol Angela, I only learnt mahjong about 2 yrs ago at a wedding (yes you read right, a wedding). It was a couple of Chinese friends who got married, and their afternoon reception was Mahjong with finger foods. Rather unusual, but I was taught by the bride's (Mahjong addicted) mother.

OMG, you are so creative to have come up with this game for your stitch! It is such a fun way to use the butterfly stitch. Great job. BTW, we dubbed this game "Dougie Donut Eater" because it reminded us of the way my husband's friend Doug would eat donuts.
I assume this was with actual tiles and not a computer generated game? I used to play scrabble all the time with my old roommate but now that I'm alone I only play computer games for one. It would be fun to play a real mahjong game, lucky you!
Yes, the real tiles. It was fun, but very difficult to learn as the bride's mother did not speak English and neither did most of the other guests at the wedding, lol. The 'hand-signaling' and high voices was hilarious.
