Quarterly Reveal~ Judy ~ TAST
Since we had a week's respite and I didn't want to jump ahead to April, it seems like a good time to look at all three of my blocks together. My eventual plan is to use them in a quilt with some kind of sashing between them. Three down, nine to go. I wonder what stitch will be next?

They are all so sweet. This will be a precious quilt one day.
It's the very first time I've seen January and viewing your blocks together shows how really pretty they are and will make a quilt to treasure.
They look wonderful together. Are you making this for a special little girl?
Sunbonnet Sweet!
If you decide not to make these into a quilt, they would be more than adorable framed in a nice wall group of 12. You could cover the mats with some reproduction 40s fabrics.
You know, I think Sunbonnet Sue must live in the south as she does not seem to have had a winter wardrobe!
You're right! Now that would be an interesting version; however, her perferred dress-style doesn't seem to coordinate well with furs or sweaters. I can't quite imagine her in a pantsuit either, can you? LOL
I've been wondering what fabric would go well with Sue....thanks for the suggestion, Debra. I kind of have my only GD in mind for a quilt; we'll see.
The machine embroidery site did a series on Sunbonnet Sue and Fred and they dressed them in all kinds of clothes for all kinds of occasions.
I have my baby quilt (from the 50s) and it's a Sunbonnet Sue--a very popular pattern back then from what my mother said.
Each one is so adorable! I can't pick one I prefer, but together, it's going to be an amazing quilt. I think 30s is the usual fabric used with these, as Debra said. It's what the repros I've done with Laurene Sinema all had.
This quilt will be perfect for any little girl. I remember loving Sunbonnet Sue when I was little, giving each a name!

Lovely to see all three blocks together.
I can see each of these blocks surrounded with the small floral prints of Laura Ashley fabric. In the pinks, peaches and greens of the colours in the blocks. The same fabric on all four sides of the blocks, and then the blocks sewn together with a sashing in the same colour as the background of the blocks so that each SBS has a small floral print "frame" around it.
Sounds good...only 9 more blocks to go! ;)
