Deborah: TAST Week 5 - Herringbone

Well I'll tell you - I barely got anything done this week. I pulled out my hoop and reference books and did a few rows then promptly fell asleep. That happens when dogs wake you at 4 am. But, in the spirit of consistency and continuity, here is my herringbone stitch, such as it is:

I certainly intend to add more to this,  but I'm determined to post every Sunday, even if it's two stitches!

Same thing happened to me Deborah, and the world didn't come to an end ~ lol. Moving forward...

It's all about consistency! I had to finally sit down Friday and do my weekly stitches too. I was glad I did & I bet you were too.

I like that experiment at the bottom with the Cretan stitch and detached chain stitches thrown in!

Yes, on to next week...it's all good, as my daughter would tell me.

The most important thing to me is to keep up and stay on track, even if I only do one simple row of the stitch. I can always return to it and experiment.

Thanks Jen. As you see I started to do a little flower thing but darn, do I have trouble doing angles on that even weave. It doesn't look to bad in the picture, though.

I like your 2-colored one! It's interesting how different your double one looks from mine with a change in the spacing. Doesn't matter how many you do....looks to me like you have it figured out!

Looks good to me, sometimes life just keeps getting in the way of good needlework, lol.

I know, darn it. That silly job of mine...

It is so much fun to see everyone's interpretation of the stitches. A slight variation makes a tremendous difference.

Well it looks as though you know the stitch. I like your flower on the bottom.

Even if it isn't everything you wanted to do, what you did is excellent. I like the fly stitch over the herringbone.

I like the fly stitch and herringbone combo too. It looks great.

I gotta hand it to you to get the weekly stitch done along with your CQ as well. Your making great strides at getting it all done and you're not just doing a line of stitch... you're doing the experiment too. I see you're stitching the name as well , that all counts as time spent, great job Deborah!
