TAST Week 1 - Fly Stitch
My full journey and more photos about Week 1 are on my blogspot site at
I have decided to do my TAST stitches on
9" x 9" squares of recycled even-weave linen that I have hand dyed.
These will then be made into a stitch reference journal and added to
throughout the year.
Here are my Fly Stitch experiments

The Fly Stitch always reminds me of wishbones! Your line on the left looks like girls holding on to each other and wishing. I love that variation. Expect me to grab it! The half circles are cool too.
I like your hand dyed background! And the fly stitch boxes are cool!
Very nice! I love the fabric...it has all my favorite colors in it!
Great fabric! I also love the yellow fly stitches that look like half a daisy!
So colorful! Your fabric is fab.
This is great Cy! I love all the color and you have come up with some really nice stitch combos. Nicely done. You will also have a wonderful reference for stitches!
I like those crossed fly stitches a lot.
Thanks for sharing!
I love the half circles. This stitch offered lots of variations. I'm doing much the same - mine look a lot like doodles. You've used it in some very imaginative ways.
Loved looking at how you put the flystitch to these variations. What beautiful fabric to present them on
